The so-called ‘terral’ winds will blast the Costa del Sol this weekend, weather experts have warned.
Temperatures will peak at around 32C across the Malaga coastline on Saturday, including in Estepona and Marbella.
The phenomenon will disappear by Sunday, according to state weather agency, when temperatures will fall back to the mid 20s.
The terral is a local, dry, and warm wind that blows from inland areas towards the coast. It is hot and dry, especially in summer.
It is most commonly found in the province of Malaga, though similar effects are observed in other parts of Andalucia.

The terral causes sudden temperature spikes above 35C in coastal areas, even when the sea is cool.
At night, or under specific atmospheric conditions, dense, warm air from inland pushes outward, displacing the cooler, moist sea air.
