A body has been found washed up on a beach in Benidorm.
The unidentified corpse was discovered by the Policia Nacional on Wednesday evening.
A spokesman from the force in Alicante told the Spanish Eye that the body belonged to a white male.
He said: ‘We can confirm that a body was found on a beach in Benidorm last night.
‘The individual has not been identified as there was no ID on his person.’
The force said it could not provide more details, adding that its main focus is to identify the individual.
It follows a string of high profile incidents in the resort involving British and Irish tourists.
Earlier this month, Charlotte Benson, 31, from Shropshire, told the Spanish Eye that she was shoved to the ground before being repeatedly kicked in the ribs by bouncers during a night out.
Meanwhile, new footage emerged of so-called ‘muggers alley’, where women target lone male tourists to pickpocket or rob them.
